I was dead in my sins. Enslaved to the evil of my own flesh. Yet God, through impossible grace, has made me alive with Christ (Colossians 2:13). He has resurrected me so that I may put to death my emptiness and be made full. So full that He overflows from within me (Colossians 2:6-7).
I understand that,
on a daily basis, I must deny myself (Matthew 16:24). For I have died, and my
life is Christ (Colossians 3:3). As a sinner in pursuit of a holy God, my heart
must be set on things above and only on things above (Colossians 3:2). Because
that is where Christ is. This world is not what I long for. My love belongs to
the One who deserves more than I can give. I pursue a romance with a being far
greater than I can imagine. Because He, matchless and all mighty God, has first
pursued me. With a perfect love that I cannot repay. Yet He calls me His own.
These are the
stories of that resurrection. These are the words of that new life. That true
life. This is the overflow of thankfulness for the holy romance I have been
blessed with. Praise God!
